We waited for Saturday with much anticipation, the 24 July 2010, because no one knew what or who this weekend would bring. Dr. Fernando Clington and Gnana Sundari (who had not met before) spoke by telephone to arrange the retreat and Dr. Clington agreed to come without hesitation to Wiesloch to our parish St. Laurentius. The result of our advertising was not known.
How many people would be interested and how many in fact would come to Wiesloch? 5 or 50? No one knew. We were so excited to meet Dr. Clington and his friend Edwin. His quiet friendly way and his trust in God showed us to take things in God’s way.
It was a wonderful retreat with between 30 to 50 Participants. There were wonderful songs of praise sung acapella and voluntary and spontaneous translations in German and Polish. We were astounded that a medical doctor could speak in such a heartfelt and spiritual way. We can see the results of that retreat even today: one young man decided to become a priest, there were various healing, some people wanted to confess, many people were touched by his words and many donations were collected.
We were very thankful to God and happy that He sent us His servant Dr. Clington. Now we hope that he will come again soon. His next visit in Germany will be November 12 and 13 in Weinheim, another small town in our region about 40 Kilometers away. We wish Dr. Fernando Clington and his friend Edwin God’s blessings for their work and their whole lives..
